The show was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan, and originally envisioned as a film rather than a TV series. Murphy selects all music featured within the series himself, and intends to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits. Songs covered in the show are released on iTunes during the week of broadcast, and a series of Glee albums will be released through Columbia Records, beginning with Glee: The Music, Volume 1 on November 3, 2009. Glee Season 1 Volume 1: Road to the Sectionals will contain 13 of the 22 Season 1 episodes and be a four-disc set. It is set for release on December 29, 2009. 5There were a couple. The one you're talking about when April was talking with the Glee kids was also in the movie (500) Days of Summer and it's called You Make My Dreams (Come True) by Hall and Oates. Personally I love that song.
Maybe This Time from Cabaret was sung in a combined scene with Rachel at rehearsal and April with the Glee kids at their rehearsal. Also, Cabaret from Cabaret was sung for a second while Rachel was at rehearsal.
Heart Of Glass (a guitar version by Blondie) was played when Mr. Schu went to April's "house."
The song in the bowling alley while Rachel and Finn were bowling was I Want a New Drug by Huey Lewis & The News.
The one Mr. Schu and Kristin Chenoweth sang to the gamblers at the bowling alley was called Alone by Heart.
When they performed in the cowboy hats for the performance with April as the start performer the song was Last Name by Carrie Underwood.
The kids also sang Don't Stop Believin' by Journey when they were in rehearsal and Quinn sang Rachel's part.
Also, there was Somebody to Love by Queen for the final number. Really, they have an awesome playlist. If there's anymore Glee questions you have, just ask. I'm a big fan
